The film ‘Tomorrow’ was a very positive, and in many ways, re-assuring commentary on community solutions to the crises the planet faces. It re-affirmed again that if we want to live in a different world we have to stand up and make a difference! I suppose this is a call to anyone out there who may want to work on some practical projects that will make a difference in Weardale. Can we find creative solutions to supplying local food, reducing our energy usage and harnessing renewables, providing sustainable transport, developing new economies and delivering education that will ensure future generations are equally as creative? Just thought we ought to start the ball rolling before the glow of the film fades!
With in that in mind we have a Spring Volunteer Day coming up on 1 April at Harehope. We will be starting the process improving the access to the quarry. 10.00 – 3.30pm, refreshments and a light lunch provided. Booking essential.
