Work is finally underway for the planned improvements at Harehope Quarry. This week saw us start the refurbishment of the strawbale workshop. This will become a focus for rural skills courses and for making products from the natural materials produced on site. A number of improvements will be undertaken including a new roof, external cladding, new doors and the installation of a wood burning stove. If successful with planning permission the workshop will also be extended to provide a unit for rent and the renewable energy system will be upgraded. There is a lot still to be done and many hurdles to jump but we hope to make the quarry an even more enjoyable place to visit with a greater range of courses and events to participate in.
