Our refurbishment of the classroom in the quarry is moving forward and we can at least now start to put things back together. It seemed like a very long session of pulling apart! The new compost loos are now ready to put in place and should be fully functioning by mid April. Having emptied the classroom, moved walls and generally made a mess we decided to do more work than anticipated. The ceiling and walls that needed to be made good are being plastered as we speak, new lino is being laid next week and a ‘new’ kitchen area being fitted with a mix of units and and recycled wood.
We hope that the classroom will be a more inviting place once the work is complete and we can attract community groups, businesses and a range of individuals to deliver courses here as well as still catering for school groups. If you know of anyone who may want to use the space, please do let us know. We will be running tours in the late summer.
