We completed our first charcoal burn of the season last week and both small and large bags of charcoal are now available to buy for £3 and £5 respectively. The burn produced about 30 bags in total.
Trees are routinely removed as part of the management of the site. Alder is cut back in blocks along the Bollihope Burn to allow more light to the river bank, dead goat willow is removed from the Forest School area to make sure the area is safe and other fallen trees are used for fire wood. This management produces wood that is ideal for charcoal making.
